Objectives

The Institute seeks to:

• Develop research strengths at Monash relating to global movements of people, resources and ideas.
• Enhance local and international linkages within and beyond the University to advance and apply knowledge about global movements.
• Build Monash’s reputation for expertise and advice pertaining to global movements based on its academic strength, independence and impartiality
• Apply understanding and knowledge about global movements to help commercialise the expertise of the social science faculties.
• Serve our communities by dealing with questions of long term strategy and policy about the economic and human/cultural dimensions of global movements through research, conferences and seminars, and an outreach for public involvement in these.
